March 13 - March 30: transition from residential to online instruction/remote
University remains open for normal business
Effective immediately, the University will implement on-campus social distancing protocols:
Schools, colleges and units will cancel, postpone or conduct virtually any planned event where attendance will exceed 50 individuals. Residential classes of 50 or more are an exception through the end of the academic day on Friday, March 13.
Schools, colleges and units with plans to host an external speaker or external groups on campus between March 10 and March 30 should cancel, postpone or virtually conduct those events.

Remote learning to begin Wednesday, 3/11 at campuses in New York and Brooklyn. Residence halls will remain open as usual during spring break (March 16-20). All classes will be conducted remotely March 23-27.
Domestic travel: Effective immediately, in addition to the previously announced international travel restrictions, the University is also now prohibiting all upcoming, non-essential, University-sponsored travel to the states of Washington and California and discouraging all other upcoming, non-essential domestic travel.
As of Tuesday, March 10, St. John’s is suspending face-to-face instruction at all locations.
The University will move to online instruction effective Thursday, March 12 and continue through to Friday, March 27.
All residential students are required to return home by Wednesday, March 11. Students who cannot return home will be allowed to remain in their assigned residence halls.
University events are cancelled through March 27.
Beginning Thursday, March 12, through the end of spring break on Sunday, March 22, all classes are canceled.
Beginning Monday, March 23, through at least Friday, April 3, all course instruction will be delivered remotely. All face-to-face instruction is suspended. This includes any class meetings.
Beginning Thursday, March 12, Rutgers events and in-person meetings involving groups larger than 15 participants are cancelled through April 15. Guidance related to this policy will be reviewed again by April 1.
Groups with events scheduled after April 15 are urged to begin considering alternative plans in case future events will need to be cancelled or postponed.
No new non-essential events should be scheduled until further notice.

All undergraduate students are to leave campus at the start of spring break and to remain at their permanent home residence, completing their semesters remotely.

University is prohibiting events with more than 100 people
Effective Saturday, March 14, UC will suspend face-to-face instruction, lectures, discussion sessions, seminars and other similar classroom settings, and move to remote instruction. Face-to-face instruction will resume Monday, April 13.
Instruction that involves labs, studios, music lessons, clinical experience, e.g., may meet at the discretion of the dean provided that social distancing is observed and respected.
Students may choose to return to their permanent place of residence or return to campus where appropriate social distancing and enhanced preventative preventative public health and hygiene measures will be actively encouraged.
We strongly urge extreme caution and judgment for your personal domestic travel, with particular attention to known outbreak areas.
Until May 31, 2020, we strongly encourage everyone in the UC community to register with UC Travel prior to their trip.
Effective immediately, any in-person UC events (on-campus or off-campus) with more than 150* attendees scheduled to occur between now and May 31, 2020, must be rescheduled, canceled or “virtualized.”
Certain events, such as athletic contests and performances, may be modified to decrease the need for a crowd or audience. Details on these modifications are under development and will be shared once finalized.

UConn strongly encourages faculty, staff and students to postpone non-essential domestic and foreign travel at this time, both professional and personal.
The University of Florida will move classes online by Monday, March 16, and classes will remain online until at least March 30.

UMCP is setting guidelines regarding events and meetings, in effect through April 6, 2020. Social distancing is strongly encouraged in all situations. The university strongly discourages hosting or attending any non-essential large gatherings. They do not recommend scheduling any new large events that would occur for the next 60 days.

Prepared to move classes remotely but will not unless outbreak escalates
University sponsored travel to select countries suspended
“The University has preventive measures and controls in place to support the health and safety of our University community, including operational continuity contingency plans, preparing for a range of possibilities, from suspending some operations and some large events, to offering classes remotely, to a full suspension of classes. We continue to review and adapt our planning and strategies as more is learned every day.”
“While no decision has been made with regard to shifting to online course delivery due to concerns related to the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19), we are now asking all faculty to prepare to go online with their instruction. We are requesting that faculty have an online delivery instructional plan for all classes (e.g., lectures, labs, performance, recitation, arts, etc.) finalized no later than March 30.”
Today we are announcing the cancellation of in-person final exams, which begin on Tuesday. We will, instead, move to remote or on-line exams. We are asking that faculty remain lenient with students for in-class instruction through the few remaining days of the term.
The Provost will be in touch shortly with the faculty about support for offering online exams and courses, and faculty, in turn, will communicate directly with their students. We are asking faculty to be generous implementing course substitutions, and in particular, for graduating seniors.
Additionally, the University will move classes online, including at the Sturm College of Law (beginning Tuesday, March 17) until at least April 10.
The on-line Interterm classes that were scheduled for Spring Break will continue as planned. The in-person Interterm classes are cancelled.
The University is not closed. As this situation evolves, we will continue to evaluate our University operations as we closely monitor the impact of COVID-19 on our community. We will be in touch with staff as there are new developments.

Decisions about whether or not we will continue online instruction for the remainder of the Spring term will be made no later than March 31.
