Due to the recent outbreak of the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19, cases in the United States have increased and many states and cities have declared states of emergency. In an effort to reduce the spread the virus, some schools have decided to suspend classes temporarily. This in turn affects Kappa Phi Lambda's sorority activities. This website is intended to help provide guidance should the virus affect your local chapter or associate chapter's functions.

Below are some questions we feel may be asked. Please read through these thoroughly. Contact us as soon as possible if you have any questions that these may not address.
Notify both your RC and PA and share the details of your university’s guidance for your school community and members.
Are in-person classes suspended? If so, until when?
Does your university advise and strongly discourage events of a certain group size?
Please share a link to your university website that streamlines all information regarding how your school is advising your campus and community on how to operate.
March Convention is cancelled. National attendance requirements will be waived. Please contact your Regional Consultant with questions or concerns.
Spirit of the Phoenix events can be pushed back into April if appropriate, if not, requirements will be replaced by participation in the social media campaign outlined in the theme guide.
For chapters or associate chapters whose universities have documented suspensions, closures, or otherwise modified ability to meet - requirements will be modified or waived as best determined by the respective national chairholder. No school will be penalized for failure to meet requirements due to school closures, restrictions, and advised policies.
If you anticipate that classes may be suspended or an external third party cancels an event that your chapter or associate chapter had planned in conjunction with or planned to attend, documentation of the cancellation and submitted proposals may be leveraged to complete requirements.
For chapters or associate chapters whose universities have documented suspensions, closures, or otherwise modified ability to meet, university guidelines are prioritized over sorority guidelines. If the university requests that NMP activities must be halted until further notice, then all NMP activities must cease temporarily.
If your university allows the continuation of NMP activities during university closure and/or remote classes, please provide documentation. Your respective Program Advisor will help accommodate the New Member Process to be held remotely. Only major activities such as deliverables, meetings, and Initiation will be required for Potential New Members to cross. All other activities including but not limited to Library Hours, Bonding Activities, and Class Meals will be completely optional to complete the NMP but should be held remotely. No PNM or sister should be penalized for not physically attending NMP events due to school closures, restrictions, and advised policies.
